The 2026 Rivalry Shirt Guide: What to Wear to Every Away Game

The 2026 NFL season kicks off on Wednesday, September 9, with New England at Seattle. Which means you have roughly four weeks to decide what you are wearing to the first away game you have tickets for.

This is a practical guide. Not to the football — to the shirt.

Rule one: the front is for them, the back is for you

A rivalry shirt that only works from one angle is half a shirt. You spend most of a game seen from behind by the people in the row above, and most of a tailgate seen from the front by strangers holding drinks. Every shirt in The Rivalry Line is printed front and back for exactly this reason.

Rule two: say it about the team, not the person

There is a real line between heckling a franchise and heckling the guy in front of you with his kid. The first one is the whole point of sport. The second one gets you removed, and deservedly. A shirt does the first job without you having to open your mouth, which is genuinely the most efficient form of trash talk ever invented.

Rule three: dress for the actual weather

A lightweight combed-cotton tee works in September in Dallas and is a mistake in December in Philadelphia. If you are going late-season, layer it under something and let the back print do the work when you take your coat off inside the bar.

Where each one belongs

Seattle

The loudest building in the league, and a fanbase that will out-decibel you no matter what you wear. Bring something that reads instantly. Seachickens Suck is the blunt one. Seachickens Since 2012 is for the bandwagon question specifically — nobody in that city owned a jersey before the winning started.

Philadelphia

You are not going to shock anyone in Philadelphia. This is a city that has heard worse from its own season-ticket holders. Go with something they have not seen: B-Eagles Suck or, if you are going twice this year, E-Gals Suck so you are not repeating yourself.

Dallas

The richest, most-televised, most-confident franchise that has not won a title since the 1995 season. Cowgirls Suck is the direct approach. Cowboyz II Men is the one that makes people laugh before they get annoyed, which is usually the better outcome.

Baseball, while we are here

The season overlaps. Spankees Suck covers you through the playoffs.

Sizing, honestly

These are Bella+Canvas 3001 blanks, retail fit, true to size. If you want it loose over a hoodie in November, size up one. Every product page has a chest-width table in inches — measure a shirt you already like flat and match the number.

Ordering in time

Everything here is printed after you order it: 2–5 business days to make, 3–7 in transit. If you want it for Week 1, order by the end of August. Two shirts ship free and take 15% off automatically.
